Filtering

Hello fellow readers and welcome today's, blog post is about what we are doing for science. So for science, filtering is when you are separating different-sized particles out of a mixture you can not filter the same-sized particles they need to be different sizes for them to be filtered.

our aim: Make a solution than separate the solution we have made

Hypothesis; I think it will be able to filter but the color in the will be filtered out

Equipment; Copper sulfate, Conical flask, Stirring Rod, 200mL Beaker, Funnel, Filter paper, safety glasses.

Method:

1. Pour approximately 50mL of copper sulfate solution into a beaker.

2. Add the same volume of sodium carbonate solution. A reaction will happen, you should see a cloudy blue precipitate form. Called copper carbonate.

3. Watch demo then fold filter paper to fit inside the funnel

4. Place the funnel with the filter paper inside of it, into the mouth of a conical flask.

5. Stir the mixture in the beaker, then carefully pour it into the funnel.

6. Observe what happened.

Observation and Discussion; When we mixed the liquids it became bluer than it was in the bottle this is because the blue liquid is actually a solid and that's why it stayed in the filter and not go throw with the filter like the other liquid.

Essay-Why Jacinda Ardern is influential

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's, the blog post is about what I have been doing for English over these few weeks. Which is researching and then writing about the people we chose. The person that I picked was Jacinda Ardern the prime minister of New Zealand.

Here is my work.....

Why Jacinda Ardern is Influential?

For this assignment, I will be talking about why Jacinda Ardern is influential. She was born in Hamilton Jacinda grow up in Waikato she attended Morrinsville college. She joined the New Zealand party at the age of 18 after uni she started working for the government doing many different jobs for them she is also trying to make New Zealand a kinder and safer place.

Before Jacinda was in the government she worked at a Soup kitchen in New York for the poor and homeless people that we around in the city. She has also voted for one of the biggest issues in New Zealand which were the LGBTQ+ issues for this they were trying to vote for the right of same-sex couples to get married in New Zealand. Jacinda when to Morrinsville college and she earned herself a bachelor of arts at the University of Waikato. To this day she is the second-youngest woman in New Zealand to be a prime minister at the age of 37.

Then we had covid-19 once we got to our first couple of case we were already told what would happen if we got more so we were put into leave one and because Jacinda was so quick to act on this pandemic schools were shut we were told to stay at home and wear a mask if we had to go out. Now New Zealand is one of the many counties that are not in lockdown and are able to go to school, work.

Jacinda was the second woman to give birth in the office after Benazir Bhutto who was the first woman to give birth in the office now that she has had her beautiful baby girl she and her husband are both full-time workers. So while she is working as a prime minister she is also balancing motherhood at the same time for her this could mean bring the baby into work if she does not go to kindergarten get or if it’s close. But now there is a new thing in her life that she also has to plan and worry about and that’s her wedding they are still waiting for a good year where they can have their wedding in the summertime.

Therefore this is why I think Jacinda Ardern is Influential and a great prime minister.

Week 4 Do Now

Topic; Rugby is the most definitive sport of Aotearoa

I agree with this because when most people think about New Zealand Rugby is the main thing they think of this is because it's one of the most played sports in Aotearoa people might think this because the all blacks are known as one of the most famous sports groups. Therefore this is why I think Rugh by is the most definitive sport of Aotearoa.

Dissolving

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's blog post is about what we are doing for Chemistry today. So today for chemistry we had to get 3 conical flask's and fill one with warm water another with cold water and the last one with water the last flask had to bestir miss came round and put sugar into all 3 conical flask's the aim was to see which one the sugar would dissolve in first it was the warm water and the warm water that had to bestir. We also had to work in a group of 3 the people in my group were Danni, Emalea. Some keywords we learned were solvent, solution, soluble, mixture, dissolve here is the D.L.O we did on the keywords.

Week 4 Do Now

Topic; School's should have more mufti days

I agree with this school's should have more mufti days because then kids can be themself.  People can see what other kids like to wear and sometimes you can tell what type of person they are the way they dress. For some kids, the only way they feel comfortable in expressing themselves f is by the way they dress like me when I was younger I would express what my feels are by the clothes I wear that day. On the mufti days, the money that is made can go to good places like bullying, RSPCA, and many more. Most of the girls do not want to wear skirts but we have to some of the boys may not like shorts but they have to wear them I think kids should get a say in what they want to wear as a school uniform.  Therefore this is why school's shloud have more mufti day.

Week 3 Do Now

Topic: Cats are a better pet than dogs

I do not agree with this I believe dogs are better than cats I believe this because you can do a lot more with dogs than you can with cats. Like for example, you can take your dog on a walk teach them tricks like sit, stay, lay down, high five, roll over, shake hands and many more were as a cat you can not really take a cat on a walk or teach it tricks like you can with a dog.

Week 2 DO Now

Topic; School uniforms should not be mandatory

I agree with this that we should not have to wear a uniform because then we can have a chance to see what other people's styles are. We can still be ourselves and not have to wear clothes that we do not like.  Those are also very uncomfortable and a pain to put on every morning. School uniforms are also very expensive and some parents can not afford to get their kid's new clothes that fit or if their clothes are damaged.

Earth day

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's, blog post is about a task I had to do for Earth day. So for this, I had to make a D.L.O about bees and how they help the environment and so facts about them. We are doing this to learn about different things that can help our environment and the way animals help our ecosystem.

Here is my work.......

Rat Dissection

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's, blog post is about the rat dissection we did for science last week. For this, we got to cut a rat open and look at all the organs and see how they would have worked we did this to see what the organs would look like in different animals. I really enjoyed cutting it open and seeing what they look like on the inside.

Do Now Week 2

Topic; Elephants are the greatest animal of all time

I disagree with this because they are too big and you would not be able to do very much with them I believe horses are way better because you can do a lot more with them like tricks you can ride them and they can do many more. If it were an elephant it would be a bit harder to do all the stuff a horse can also the elephants could easily step on you if they did not see you were as a horse it could still happen but they are smaller than an elephant so they would most likely see you.

Week 1 Do Now

Topic; School holidays should only be 1 week long

I disagree with this topic students should get 2 weeks off because then they get a chance to spend time with loved one they can not see on the weekend or after school. It's also a good chance for studies to get a break from schoolwork and relax go a place they want to with their family or if they have sport on after school and on the weekends. It could be their only chance to not do that it could also be a chance to catch up with old friends you have not seen in years are months.
