Social Media Madness

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's blog post is about what we are doing for English this week. So for English this week, we are rewriting posts that people have actually posted on social media so they make sense.

 1. I have a few good friends that you'd have a lot in common with.

2. Why does life have to be so complicated? I am so lonely wide awake and have nothing to do some guys are real jerks. How can you text someone it's over and not tell them in person.

3. What is happening this Saturday? Oh, wait it's going to be Sammy's 1 birthday.

4.  Well on my way back from New Orleans heading straight to Georgia in the morning. I am going to get some money and I won't be back until the afternoon if you want to come over then. Who is interested?

5. I just want t say thank you to my aunt since all of us were little you have always helped us whether it was a simple life lesson or talking us into doing something fun. To this day you continue to teach me and help me, I can't express how appreciative I am for everything you've ever done. So this is for you aunt Tina thank you I love you you're the best aunt anybody could ask for.

English-Week 1

Hello fellow readers and welcome back, today's blog post is about what we have been doing for english the week. So for english, we have been learning about different punctuation basics my group was learning about how to use quotation marks in your writing.  We had four tasks to complete one was a kahoot, two practice activities, and the last one was create your own sentences. I have learned that you can not just put quotation marks wherever you want in a story/writing, if people are having a conversation in your story they need to be on direction lines not on the same one so the readers can understand what is going on and what they are saying to each other.

Here are the last two sentences from my creat your own sentence activity.

The Cay

Hello, fellow readers, and welcome back today's blog post is about what we are doing for English today. So for English, we are answering some questions about chapters 12-13.

1. How many days have Phillip and Timothy been on the Cay? They have been on the island for about 48 days they know this because they would put pebbles in a jar that they found.

2. What does Phillip do to help Timothy when he is sick? Phillip tries to help him by putting a cold cloth on Timothy's head he also tried to hold timothy down.

3. Explain why Phillip is ready to climb the coconut tree? I think he is ready to climb the tree so he can prove to himself and Timothy that he is capable of living on his own.

4. Why do you think Timothy is trying to teach Phillip these survival skills? I think Timothy is trying to do all this because he knows he is dying and Phillip needs to know who to survive without Timothy.

5. What do you think Phillip means by his comment,'' are you still Black"? I think Phillip means this is a good way and is wonder if Timothy is still as he remembers him.

Calypso

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's blog post is about what we are doing in English today. So for English today we are listening to a song Called Calypso Steel Pan Music. This song reminds me of SpongeBob and it gives off the vibe of like you're at a tropical hotel or at a cultural dance festive but other than that the music is very relaxing and I would listen to this type of music if I was doing some housework.

Here is a link to the song Calypso Music

Pontoon Bridge

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's, blog post is about what we are doing for English. So for English today we are learning about Pontoon bridges.

The Pontoon bridges were made so that the army could get across the river with no struggle and it would be easier for them. The Pontoon Bridges were made from boats on the bottom or something that would float then it went wood and they would tie the boats and the woods together, the last thing they would place was the wooden planks. The Pontoon bridges would be reusable because they would be able to make them then once they were done they would be able to come undone and built somewhere else.

Schooner

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's blog post is about what we are doing for English today. So for English today we are doing what a Schooner boat looks like and what we might be able to see if we were looking off the front of the boat.

A Schooner boat is a type of sailing vessel it is most know for its rig, fore-and-aft rigged on all its 2 sides or for its more mats the meaning of the word Schooner is to skip over water or like you were to skip stones. It's very long in size it's a brown-looking boat with gray sails the shape of the boat is kind of like a banana but it looks to be flatter at the backside of the boat and on the very front of the boat there is a long pole. If you were standing on the very front of the boat you would probably be able to see for about 1 mile.

Here is a picture of the boat

The regular U-boat was around 214 feet long and this boat would carry 12 torpedoes and 35 men. This boat would be able to travel underwater for about 2 hours. The U-boat was the best boat ever built by the German's it was also the best sophisticated than the other boats that were built by different nations at that time.

Week 9 Do Now

Topic; Matariki (Maori New Year) should be a public holiday

I agree with this because it can give the people that do celebrate this time to do so and have family and friends over. I also think it would a kind of respected to give them the day off to celebrate. There are so many people that do celebrate this and most of them do not get time to celebrate what they believe in because they are so busy with work or school. This is why I think Matariki should be a public holiday.

Week 8 Do Now

Topic; English is the most important subject to learn in school

I disagree with this because I think Reading is more important. I think this for many reasons like if you do not know how to read then how would you know what your writing or what other people are telling you. reading is an everyday skill us humans use this as one of our main ways of learning and talk and know what the words mean why we speak them. Say if know one now how to read know one would understand you and people who did know how to read would probably make fun of you. Also, some of the things we learn how to do like a Sexxxy paragraph are not that helpful if you do not know how to read.

Week 7 Do Now

Topic: Your name is an important part of who you are...

I agree with this because your name is what makes up who you. You could have the same name as someone else but your name could be spelled differently to that person or it could be the same. But your name is still important to who you are. I believe this because it helps people know who you are and it could have a special meaning behind it or sometimes your name will reflect your personality and even tell other people something about you.

Week 5 Do Now

Topic; The principal is the most important person in the school

I agree with this because they are at the top of the chain their role in a school is to help with what the teacher should do they set the rules and regulations like the dress code. How and why the school workers that way. They are also important because if there was to be a massive problem they are the people how to have to sort out if the teacher can not or other problems that are too big for the teacher. Therefore this is why I believe that Principals are the most important person in the school.

Essay-Why Jacinda Ardern is influential

Hello fellow readers and welcome back today's, the blog post is about what I have been doing for English over these few weeks. Which is researching and then writing about the people we chose. The person that I picked was Jacinda Ardern the prime minister of New Zealand.

Here is my work.....

Why Jacinda Ardern is Influential?

For this assignment, I will be talking about why Jacinda Ardern is influential. She was born in Hamilton Jacinda grow up in Waikato she attended Morrinsville college. She joined the New Zealand party at the age of 18 after uni she started working for the government doing many different jobs for them she is also trying to make New Zealand a kinder and safer place.

Before Jacinda was in the government she worked at a Soup kitchen in New York for the poor and homeless people that we around in the city. She has also voted for one of the biggest issues in New Zealand which were the LGBTQ+ issues for this they were trying to vote for the right of same-sex couples to get married in New Zealand. Jacinda when to Morrinsville college and she earned herself a bachelor of arts at the University of Waikato. To this day she is the second-youngest woman in New Zealand to be a prime minister at the age of 37.

Then we had covid-19 once we got to our first couple of case we were already told what would happen if we got more so we were put into leave one and because Jacinda was so quick to act on this pandemic schools were shut we were told to stay at home and wear a mask if we had to go out. Now New Zealand is one of the many counties that are not in lockdown and are able to go to school, work.

Jacinda was the second woman to give birth in the office after Benazir Bhutto who was the first woman to give birth in the office now that she has had her beautiful baby girl she and her husband are both full-time workers. So while she is working as a prime minister she is also balancing motherhood at the same time for her this could mean bring the baby into work if she does not go to kindergarten get or if it’s close. But now there is a new thing in her life that she also has to plan and worry about and that’s her wedding they are still waiting for a good year where they can have their wedding in the summertime.

Therefore this is why I think Jacinda Ardern is Influential and a great prime minister.

Week 4 Do Now

Topic; Rugby is the most definitive sport of Aotearoa

I agree with this because when most people think about New Zealand Rugby is the main thing they think of this is because it's one of the most played sports in Aotearoa people might think this because the all blacks are known as one of the most famous sports groups. Therefore this is why I think Rugh by is the most definitive sport of Aotearoa.

Week 4 Do Now

Topic; School's should have more mufti days

I agree with this school's should have more mufti days because then kids can be themself.  People can see what other kids like to wear and sometimes you can tell what type of person they are the way they dress. For some kids, the only way they feel comfortable in expressing themselves f is by the way they dress like me when I was younger I would express what my feels are by the clothes I wear that day. On the mufti days, the money that is made can go to good places like bullying, RSPCA, and many more. Most of the girls do not want to wear skirts but we have to some of the boys may not like shorts but they have to wear them I think kids should get a say in what they want to wear as a school uniform.  Therefore this is why school's shloud have more mufti day.

Week 3 Do Now

Topic: Cats are a better pet than dogs

I do not agree with this I believe dogs are better than cats I believe this because you can do a lot more with dogs than you can with cats. Like for example, you can take your dog on a walk teach them tricks like sit, stay, lay down, high five, roll over, shake hands and many more were as a cat you can not really take a cat on a walk or teach it tricks like you can with a dog.

Week 2 DO Now

Topic; School uniforms should not be mandatory

I agree with this that we should not have to wear a uniform because then we can have a chance to see what other people's styles are. We can still be ourselves and not have to wear clothes that we do not like.  Those are also very uncomfortable and a pain to put on every morning. School uniforms are also very expensive and some parents can not afford to get their kid's new clothes that fit or if their clothes are damaged.

Do Now Week 2

Topic; Elephants are the greatest animal of all time

I disagree with this because they are too big and you would not be able to do very much with them I believe horses are way better because you can do a lot more with them like tricks you can ride them and they can do many more. If it were an elephant it would be a bit harder to do all the stuff a horse can also the elephants could easily step on you if they did not see you were as a horse it could still happen but they are smaller than an elephant so they would most likely see you.

Week 1 Do Now

Topic; School holidays should only be 1 week long

I disagree with this topic students should get 2 weeks off because then they get a chance to spend time with loved one they can not see on the weekend or after school. It's also a good chance for studies to get a break from schoolwork and relax go a place they want to with their family or if they have sport on after school and on the weekends. It could be their only chance to not do that it could also be a chance to catch up with old friends you have not seen in years are months.

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays, blog post is about a film review on the moive Hunt for the Wilderpeople this moive was made in 2016 31 of March  the name of the director Taika Waititi were are doing this for English.

I think this is one Taika Waititi  best moive that he has ever director Hunt for the Wilderpeople is  a comedy, drama and adventure type moive. The main charaters of this moive are  Ricky, Hec and Bella in the moive bella die's . Ricky finds out about that he runs away into the bush and Hec comes looking for him. I would recommended this moive to kid that are 13+ over all the moive was pretty good if I had to rate it out of 5 it would be a 5 out of 5. Amazingly this moive was better that I thought it was going to be I thought it was going to be really boreding and not intresting at all but that was not the case. Over all this moive was intresting, excting, funny and meaningful I would definitely watch this moive again .
