I soon found out that she lived in the same street now we hang out nearly every day oneday when I came home from school there was a surprise in the backyard turned out to be a dog.We ended naming him Nekio.

The Twits book review.

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays blog post is about a book review on the Twits.

In the Twits Mr and Miss Twit are always trying to get birds to make bird pie but one day when Mr Twit went out side he found 4 kid's stuck to the old dead tree but luckly they found a way to get off of the dead tree by unzipping thier pants so that they would not be made in to pie. I think this book will be good for Year 6, 7 and 8's but if you would like to older kid's couldd read it but it might not interest them other than that the book is very weird and interest. The movie is all so like the book but I would prefer the movie over the book.

Te Reo Maori

Hello fellow readers and welcome back. Today's blog post is about a story that we have been learning in Maori, Poutini: A Guardian Taniwha.

In the story, Waitaiki is having a bath in the lake and Poutini sneaks up behind Waitaiki and takes her away, and travelled around New Zealand but everywhere they stopped Poutini would leave a fire behind so when Waitaiki's huband arrived the fire was still warm but there were no flames. But the sad thing is that Poutini said "if he can not have her then on one can have her" and then he turned her to stone and she fell in to the river and became greenstone and ever time the snow on the muntains melt it knocks some greenstone down in to the river.

Three thing  that I learned about the story is that know matter what happens someone will remember you, that some people like to stalk people and if you go missing someone will come looking for you know matter what.

The Haunted Chairs

Hello fellow readers and welcome back to days blod post is about  a story that I have written it's about some haunted chairs in a forest hope you enjoy the story.

It was a cold morning in the woods of England,Reuae was left in the woods to die but luckly Reuae had a knife in her pocket and cut the rope that was tying her to the tree.Ones Reuae was free she went to find a hospital so she could get her leg sewn back up and see if they can find someone to help her get her memory back.

One week later Reuae is still in the woods but ever day that go's by it seam to get colder and colder all the animals are frozen in one place and the trees had ieycles haning from them.
"Knock Knock"I'm coming for you" said?
"W-who's there"replied Reuae
"oh honey you will find out very soon"...
Poof the man appeared but he did not seem human he had a long fluffy tail and some lovely fluffy ears.

What are you" said Reuea

Summer Learning Journey

Hello Emma my name is Felicity and I'm a year 7 at Hornby High School I will be participating in the Summer Learning Jouney competition/challenge.

The topic that is the most interesting to me is the Art's and Entertainment one. The prize that I am most looking forward to is the bluetooth speaker.

The thing that I'm hoping to achieve is that my blog posts will be better then they are now and I will know how to use tools to make my blog posts better and more interesting to read. I'm also hoping the Summer Learning Journey will  mean that the Summer slide will not happen if I do the Summer Learning Journey.

PE Hurumanu

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays blog post is about how well we did  teaching are sport to the class.

My groups sport was dodgball the people in my group were TJ, Daniel, Haylee, Zack, Dryce, Jesse and Shane and Jrae. I think are sport was unsuccessful because we could have done the instructions better my role was to help set everything up for the game and then put it way after.

Something that my group could have done different was the warm ups and explaining are rules about the game some thing that I learned was that Dodgeball has a lot of rules the second thing that I learned was that Dodgeball is a easy game to play.

Over all I think my sport was a fun game to play and my group could have done better but over all I think we did good.

Roald Dahl the Twits

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays blog post is about a book that me and my group are reading is called The TWITS by Roald Dahl and Illustrated by Quentin Blake.

So far this book has tolled us thing about Mr Twit and Mrs Twit we learned that Mr Twit never washers his beard so it always has food crums in it which means that when ever he gets hungry he just licks his lips and gets the food crums of his beard. And we have learned that Mrs Twit likes to put her glass eye in his beer cup which means when he saw the glass eye he spits his beer everywhere. When Mrs Twit woke up one morning there was a frog in her bed along with some puddles of water.

I think this book is great for people of all ages  and that I would encourag young children to read Roald Dahl's books .

Hurumanu Digital Technology

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays blog post is about a reflection that we are doing for Digital Technology.

Scratch is a web based software that you can use to make animation's and a coding game you can use the codes to make the character's move from one plans to another.

Sphero is a robots that you have to do some coding to make to move you can change the colour of the robots and you do not have to code it if you do not want to  you can just drive it.

Both of the apps have coding in them so that both of them can be programed in a similar way.

Hurumanu Pe

Hello fellow readers and welcome back todays blog post is about  what we have done in PE hurumanu this week we did this with Tz.

The game that we played was Bench ball but be for we could start we had to do some warm up's the warm up's were 40 star jumps, running 10 times and 20 high kness we do warm up's so are body's do not hart when we are playing the game.

The drills we did was Sneak Up On Granny, it was a easy drill for me to do becuase I have played the game before with some of my friends.

The rules for bench ball are if the other team touches the ball and it go's out the other team has to get the ball and throw it to a player on there team. There is one person on the bench that has to catch the ball that their team player throws to them, that player must go on the bench. The teams were Tz year 7 vs Bh year 7 and Tz year 8 vs Bh year 8s then at the end of the game it was year 7 form both classes vs 8 year from both classes.

Maths
In maths I learnd that there are many more strategies then you think there are to answer a question I feel like the task was a little to hard for me but I did it anyways. Me and my group did multiplication and plussing as a strategy and it work out the people in my group for maths was Haylee and TJ.
I'am an outstander because if there is some thing that I do not like i do it anyways.I work sucessfully with other becuase I co-operate and listen to what they have to say I can understand  how my feelings an actions affect other because I try not to make things  difficult and do as my group wants me to do.

Art Humumanu

Hello fellow readers and welome back to my blog post this blog post is about Art  and the learning Story that we did for art there is the Learning Story I did some of the things I did its only my writing. For Art we had to do a Stop Motion fime on Manaakitanga our film was basted on clean our Nation.

What we did:

  • For art this term we did a thing called Stop Motion, for this we had to get into groups but we did not get to choose who we were in a group with. The people in my group was Risha, Gerald, Matt. The Stop Motion for our group was about Manaakitanga

What I learned:
  • I learned that it is good to work with different people and to always put your rubbish in the bin also how to  use Stop Motion. We also learned about Quentin Blake in the last term of week 8.

What I enjoyed:
  • I enjoyed making the stop motion people and the background we did are Stop Motion on paper the people in my group  were very helpful at some times they were being silly but we got it done art was a very fun time they were silly.

What I found difficult:
  • The thing I found difficult was drawing the background and then doing the outline of it and two of the people in my group were not doing what they were supposed to do instead they would talk to each other all the time instead of helping.

There is the film ....

Fantastic Mr Fox

Hello fellow readers and welcome to my blog post this is about some people we met in the Fantastic Mr Fox book that my group is reading the author of this book is Roald Dahl. There is a Google drawing I did on the three people we met ib the frist chapter.

Wind speed - Making an anemometer.

Anemometer

MATERIALS

  1. Straws  (x4)
  2. Cups (x4)
  3. Pin
  4.   Pencil
  5.   Tape

STEPs

  1.  The frist step is to get 4 staws, 4 Cups, a Pin, a pencil and some Tape.
  2.  The next step is to put a hole in the cups then put 2   straws together ones done put the straws throw the cups and tape the end of the straw to the cup do the same with the other 2 straws and cups.
  3.
  4.

Once you have made an anemometer we are going to record the wind speed.

Group size: 5

You will need:

Anemometer (above)

Roles:

  • Timekeeper
  • Counter
  • Recorder
  • Anemometer Manager
  • Wind generator
  1. Mount the anemometer in a place that has full access to the wind from all directions.
  2. When the time keeper says "Go", the counter in each group will count how many times the marked cup passes them in one minute and write it down.
  3. If possible, repeat the above step four (4) times and record the average number of spins on the chart.

FINDINGS

  • Record how many times it spins using the table below.
You will need to create the wind yourself by blowing. Get 4 different wind speeds by blowing.

You will need to time them and count the number of spins.

Time IntervalNumber of Spins
1.20 sec10

Hello fellow readers and welcome back to my blog post

Aim: To learn practical ways of recycling so that we can make our world a better place.

Video questions:

What has human activity done to our planet?
It has made a unnatural form of greenhouse gasses.
What is Zero Waste?
Definition:  One of the quickest and cheapest ways a community can immediately reduce climate impact.

What stuff has a carbon footprint?
Some of the thing that have carbon footprints are:
Phones, cars, bottles etc. What are 4 easy things to help our planet?
  1.   Reduce
  2.   Redesign
  3. Reuse
  4.  Repair
What do we need to recycle?

  1. Cans
  2. Bottles
  3. Glass
  4. Plastic

What does recycling do to our planet?
The things we recycling does to our planet is it reuse Co2 Emissions

How much of our rubbish is made up of food scraps?
50%= Compostable materials
What does methane gas do to our planet?
Methane 84x more potent then Co2 over the short term.

What does soil do to carbon dioxide in the atmosphere?
It pulls carbon down from the atmosphere.
What do using zero waste practices do to our planet?
To low the Co2 Emisssions and reuse more trash and reduce more trash

    What is a carbon footprint?

    What is your Carbon Footprint?

You are now going to look at your own carbon footprint by taking a questionaire. Remember to 'Add details to improve '.

Based on the questionaire what is your:

    1. Ecological Footprint
    2. Carbon Footprint

How many planets did you have?

    • Choose 6 items from the list.
    • Investigate them using Google.
    • Answer the 4 questions below.

    Name:
    1. How long does this resource take to decompose?
    2. What resource / fossil fuel are they made from?
    3. How does making this object contribute to climate change?
    4. How is this resource recycled?
